eBay

A lot of the credit card debt comes from buying things to resell at a profit. We have tens of thousands of items to sell. If I worked full-time on listing the items there would be years worth of work. However, if we were able to sell all of the stuff we would be able to repay the credit cards. The issue is the interest that keeps accruing and the banks expect repayments in the meantime.

A big focus this year will be to list the items on eBay. This is very time consuming though, as is packaging and posting the items once they sell. Also there is the issue that the income isn’t reliable so it is kind of scary knowing that you may or may not be able to pay that bill due on Friday depending on whether someone wants to buy your stuff.

We have decided on a general split of tasks for eBay. I will list the items and answer any customer queries and my husband will package up and post the items once they have sold. He will also put the items away once I have listed them.

I really want to work hard on this everyday because it’s like we already have the money we just need to change it from items into cash. Hopefully things sell fast enough to keep up with the interest payments and so we can pay the principal down bit by bit too.
